Becoming More Human Storytellers in the Age of AI
You know I keep up with the intersection of AI and journalism, and just this week, one of my favorite resources for the topic, NeimanLab, released its Predictions for Journalism in 2026. While it's not all sunshine and roses (is it ever?), I (as an optimist) see some bright spots for those of us continuing to stay committed to doing public good with our work.
This piece, in particular, about why AI will force us to be more human storytellers, really gets at the heart of what I truly believe about the future of our livelihoods. I have been thinking a lot about how we, as trained, experienced, skilled journalists and reporters, will verify that we are real, human beings in the future, and that the media we create is real, fact-based, and human, and this piece is worth a read.
Separately, I wanted to share a correction I need to make to last week’s mention of Sonia Weiser’s new newsletter, Lesser of Evils. I mentioned that the content jobs she includes are location-based, but they are not. They are all remote. Give her work a look and sign up for her newsletter!

Yahoo
Peloton
LA Times and more
